This project will investigate the commercial desirability and technical feasibility of a.significant improvement to existing measurements of cellular oxygen and its use in.additional clinical applications. This can potentially lead to broad clinical application in.emergency and critical care as well as wound care and transplantations. It can help.doctors avoid organ failure and lead to better treatments for millions of patients..If this project finds such a step to be feasible, the improved measurement technology will.be developed and implemented in a next generation COMET monitor by Step 2’s.subsidiary Photonics Healthcare.
