LOW-LATENCY INFRA-CONNECTED SPEEDBIKE
Product Foundry will research the feasibility of an Infrastructure-connected eBike, whose functions are selectively controlled by an intelligent and connected digital infrastructure. The recent developments of larger autonomous vehicles like cars and buses have focused on technologies that can make the individual vehicle intelligent first, and then develop collective intelligence through their cooperation. Due to the size and dynamics of automobiles, they can contain proprietary on-board units that mask their capabilities to the network with minimal interfaces. Bicycles, due to the constraints of their size and their conception as vehicles completely steered and powered by cyclists, cannot afford to carry large on-board units. Our ambition is to explore how we can develop these capabilities outside the electrically-powered bicycle, within an Intelligent Network through Edge Computing technology.
