In this project we will be developing a luggage scanning tool, with which passengers (e.g. traveling by air) can check in all their luggage from home. When using an app to photo-graph the luggage items, the airline can know in advance what all items, and their size that everyone traveling by a flight is bringing in. Therefore they can plan much in advance if all the passengers’ luggage can fit in the cabin or should be checked in. This will help the airline in planning their cargo and cabin luggage and will save them expensive time at the gate checking in luggage that was planned in the cabin but should go in the belly. With advance information, the airlines can also better plan their cargo space which will result in more efficient fuel usage. This will help reduce the costs as well as reduce the carbon footprint of the flight.....
