Regio Zuid-Holland | Genome Security Pipeline (GSP)

The objective of this project is to develop a state-of-the-art service that allows companies and (commercial) labs to store, share and analyze DNA data in a secure and efficient way. The goal of this feasibility study is the technical and economic validation of the new and innovative service Genome Security Pipeline (GSP). GSP allows clients to store and analyze DNA data for their customers or patients in a save and secure way, and allows parties in their network (e.g. research labs, hospitals) to exchange DNA information safely on a decentralised infrastructure using blockchain technology. Main contributions of the project are in compression, decentralization and encryption of the human genome, which contains enormous amounts of information. This is important because the filed is rapidly expanding and there are hugh barriers when it comes to safeguarding this highly sensitive and precious information.
