COVID-19 Decontamination Box (CDT)

Feasibility study. To help address the ongoing shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), FROLIC studio developed an innovative UV-C Decontamination Box that recycles PPE by removing all traces of virus or bacteria from equipment.

The box, prototyped and successfully laboratory tested, utilises the WHO-endorsed method of “Ultra-Violet Germicidal Irradiation”. The box will now be redesigned and redeveloped for mass production in Uganda, to support local small-medium sized health facilities in safely and effectively fighting COVID-19 as well as ensuring the continuity of regular health services.

The product will be scaled up locally and manufactured sustainably by skilled workers and using local materials.
