Regio Zuid-Holland | AI-based automation of production workflows of biopesticide

Biotech Research & Development processes rely heavily on in silico workflows, which are computer tools and simulations to model biological systems, analyze data, and predict experimental outcomes. While these workflows are essential for research, they can be tedious and repetitive, time-consuming, and prone to errors, primarily due to the lack of automation. To overcome these challenges, Bionomic and Biomod AI are working together to automate these processes using advanced AI architectures, specifically large language models (LLMs). The collaboration focuses on designing a new AI architecture that integrates multiple LLMs to automate complete in silico workflows for the genetic manipulation of crops. Specifically, we want to enhance the production of biological pesticides effective against Fusarium, a pathogenic fungus threatening crops worldwide. By emphasizing the importance of complex AI innovation in biopesticide development, the project envisions a transformative approach where automation accelerates the creation of sustainable agricultural solutions. AI-based automation of biopesticide production supports sustainable agriculture by cutting the need for harmful chemicals, preserving biodiversity, and improving soil health, promoting a more eco-friendly and resilient farming system. Both Bionomic and Biomod AI have demonstrated a high level of expertise in their respective fields, making them well-suited to fulfill this project successfully. Biomod AI, with its AI-driven SaaS platform for biotech R&D, has a multidisciplinary team specializing in gene editing, bioinformatics, machine learning, and software development. Bionomic brings its agricultural expertise, focusing on sustainable solutions for crop protection and plant disease control. Together, these companies combine their strengths to push the boundaries of AI innovation in agriculture, ensuring an efficient and effective approach to biopesticide development.
